FAQ Category: General Tour Questions
ARE THE TOURS ACCESSIBLE BY BABY STROLLERS AND WHEELCHAIR?
Unfortunately, strollers are not permitted and wheelchairs are not recommended, due to the crowds and tight spaces in the food cart pods and other food establishments we visit. Our tours utilize narrow sidewalks, uneven cobblestone streets, and a few staircases. Some of the businesses we visit are in old, historic buildings, and are not wheelchair or stroller accessible in a tour group of up to 14 guests.
The city of Portland as a whole is generally accessible, and we encourage you to explore as much as possible – with or without purchasing a tour ticket.
WHAT IS THE TOUR GROUP SIZE?
The maximum number of guests for our Portland Food Carts & Neighborhoods Tour and Breweries and Food Carts Tour is 14 people. For our Alberta Arts District Food Tour and Deluxe Downtown Foodie Experience, the maximum number is 14 people.
HOW MUCH OVERLAP IS THERE ACROSS TOURS?
There is minimal location and tasting overlap across the tours. All food and beverages served is unique to each tour, and many guests enjoy attending more than one eating adventure during their stay in Portland.
ARE BATHROOMS AVAILABLE?
For our Breweries and Food Carts Tour, Alberta Arts District Food Tour, and Deluxe Downtown Foodie Experience bathrooms are available throughout the tour. For our Portland Food Carts & Neighborhoods Tour bathrooms are available at a limited number of stops.
We strongly recommend that you use the facilities prior to the tour, for your own comfort and so we may stay on schedule. There are bathrooms available at the tour meeting locations, so please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before your tour start to allow time to use the facilities.
IS THERE PARKING NEARBY THE TOUR MEETING LOCATIONS?
For our Breweries and Food Carts Tour, Portland Food Carts & Neighborhoods Tour, and Deluxe Downtown Foodie Experience you can:
-
- Valet with the hotel at our meeting location
-
- Park at Southpark Garage at SW Taylor and SW Park Ave
-
- Park at Fox Tower Garage at SW Taylor and SW Broadway
- Park at Fifth Taylor Park at SW 6th Ave and SW Taylor St
For our Alberta Arts District Food Tour, street parking is available along NE Alberta street.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?
Portland can be a soggy place, and all tours are held rain or shine. Please dress appropriately for the day’s weather conditions and bring an umbrella if necessary.
DO THE TOURS START AND END AT THE SAME PLACE?
Our driving tours (Breweries and Food Carts Tour and Portland Food Carts & Neighborhoods Tour) begin and end at the same location. Our Alberta Arts District Food Tour begins at NE 30th Ave and ends at NE 19th Ave on Alberta Street. Our Deluxe Downtown Foodie Adventure ends about a half mile from the start location. Your guide will be happy to assist with directions at the end of your tour.
HOW PHYSICALLY FIT DO I NEED TO BE TO ENJOY MY TOUR OR EVENT?
Our walking tours require a certain level of physical stamina, as we will be walking around 1.5 miles. Our driving tours include very little walking, but we ask that guests be comfortable getting in/out of large tour vehicles.
